If you find yourself no longer able to ‘trust your doctor’ as readily as in the past, no longer able to stand taking endless pills and potions.  You’ve come to suspect that more tests, medication adjustments, procedures, and just finding ‘the right diagnosis’ (whatever that means 🤷🏼‍♀️), will get you no closer to the health and vitality you know is possible… Please read on  🫱🏻

The list of things ‘to do’ can be endless; find the right specialist who can prescribe the right medication, or perform the winning procedure, have acupuncture, see a homeopath, do this detox, find the right eating plan. And yet this process seems endless. No matter how many ‘things’ you ‘do’, a sense of what health and vitality would even mean for you, remains illusive..

But… You are still presenting at the same specialists/institutions/practitioners, in search of health.

You are the vegetarian. At the butcher. Insisting on a meal.

What you seek is not on offer there.

But the butcher is the only place for a meal in town! There’s a vegetarian grocer, but you’ve heard the food is inferior and the owner is suspect! How will you nourish yourself?

And the option of growing your own veg, tending your own garden, curating the best of your environment, managing your inner universe in a way that allows you to thrive. Not even needing the butcher or grocer in the first place.. Why are these never discussed?

Whether you’re seeing a doctor who practices conventional medicine, natural medicine, a healer or a therapist. If the fundamental premise from which you, and they are working is that the body can never heal itself, symptoms are meaningless and your experience of your body has to be mediated by the professional, the expert; lasting health and vitality will remain illusive.

If the option of healing from within, even from chronic, ‘serious’ illness is never even presented. You are the vegetarian at the butcher.

Forgive me, 🙃 I digress with my little analogy here. Let me wrap it up. 🎁

What is the biological version of not needing the butcher or grocer? Of healing from within?

Stepping from a deeply held belief that no longer serves you can be frightening. We’ll die without the butcher and grocer right? We need at least one or the other!! It can be difficult to step out of one belief without another immediately available to you. And you’d better believe medicine is a belief system, each as unique as the individual who holds it.

My own experience has been of constantly questioning; is that all there is? Two options only? Is there a third way, a fourth maybe? An island in between the two banks of a river? One where I can rest my weary soul and give my body an opportunity to heal?

This same experience has also shown that the body does indeed heal itself. It needs only my calm presence/grown-up self to be on line to finish off any mind-body-environment recalibration it is undergoing. This is the true work. The therapy. Sounds fantastical right?

My practice has changed drastically in the last two-to-three years. The framework I use to understand, and most effectively show, how the body works in health and dis-ease is most commonly named German New Medicine. My next article will give more info on this. I’ll link it as soon as it’s ready. ☺️

You heal you. I know this. Let’s see if we can get you to know this.
