Practice arrangements during the lockdown.
Greetings neighbours & fellow South Africans. We sure are living in interesting times!
“May you live in interesting times” is an English expression which is commonly believed to originate from a traditional Chinese curse. The expression is normally used ironically; life is better in “uninteresting times” of peace and tranquility than in “interesting” ones, which are usually times of trouble.
To be of service during the lockdown I am offering free virtual consultations. If you become ill with upper respiratory symptoms such as
- sore throat
- difficulty breathing
please call or WhatsApp to make an appointment using the cell: 083 449 3639.
Consultations will be conducted via WhatsApp video call, Skype or regular calls.
After a consultation we can easily determine whether you need to stay home in bed, whether you need a consultation, treatment and medication.
If medicines are prescribed, delivery or collection using social distancing tactics will be employed.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment strategies for upper respiratory tract infections have long been in place and in use. TCM professionals in China have been fully participating in the response efforts since the beginning of the outbreak and herbal medicine, acupuncture and other TCM therapies have been comprehensively employed since day one. TCM therapies have been used along side conventional medicine but also as a stand-alone treatment.
TCM can be used effectively to bolster your immune system and lower the chance of severe infection as well as treat mild, moderate and severe upper respiratory tract infection. For those who have already been treated in my practice for colds, flu, bronchitis and even pneumonia, you know just how effective the formula, along with proper home care can be.
At the early stages of infection, taking the herbs in tablet form may be all you need to prevent development of more serious disease and aid recovery. If you are more seriously ill, a raw herb prescription may need to be made up for you. Some of you may know raw herb formula.. Well, the taste can be challenging. That’s all I can say. But it remains the most concentrated dosage form of Chinese medicine and the effects are stronger and faster. If you are experiencing flu symptoms and think you may need a formula, please do not hesitate to call for a consultation and a prescription.
As mentioned above, delivery or collection of necessary medicines employing social distancing tactics can be arranged.
If you have any concerns during this time or you are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness and you need advice or reassurance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to being of service during this time.
Stay calm and stay well.
